The snow from the past storm had left a noticable stripe effect on the trees. (One photo in the February 2 blog notes this also). A walk along Brook and South Windmill Hill roads revealed more of this unusual pattern.

Mary wanted to bring apples to two bovine friends living on a farm on South Windhill Mill.

We began our walk on Brook road. The snow laden woods were wonderfully quiet punctuated by a few bird calls and the crunch of our boots. The spring water was flowing into the barrel despite the nippy temperature.

Along the way I took shots of woodpecker activity.

We turned left at the intersection of Brook and South Windmill Hill roads and continued uphill.

Until we came to the barn . . . anybody home?

Word is the female (on the left) is pregnant.

The young bull recognized Mary and came to greet her.

How sweet is that!!

Bye for now. See you soon.
