January 2-3, 2021
Wintery mix was the forcast for January 2.
Mid afternoon on January 3, I went for a walk along Old Route 5 in Putney.
I was interested in the patterns and shapes in the rock formations that frame the west
side of the road. And the tree roots weaving within the rocks.
The Beatrice Aiken Preserve is here. It is well marked with a map of the preserve and a dedicated bench. You can find the beginning of the trail that goes into the wooded area also on the west side of the road.
A deep ravine lies on the opposite side of the road. Although I have walked here often, it was the first time I noticed an old stationwagon nestled in the trees.
